Aidhe Aidhe is often called the Frozen Beauty by its inhabitants and those that dare to visit. The far northern reaches are also cool, bordering on cold, and a plunge in the sea is considered unfortunate unless one has trained in it like the natives have. Meanwhile, the land commonly seen as the hub for religious activities as the long periods of being coated in snow and ice give the druids and priestess abundant time to study in peace.

Appleton Appleton is run by the Baron Dameon Severalli and his commoner wife, Aryith. Largely known for their eccentricities, the two have begun churning out some of the best apples in the country. It helps to have the name of the barony being part of their marketing technique.

Berkley The Barony of Berkley is currently being run by the Baron's mother more than the Baron. Possibly because the baron is only eleven years old, but who's noticing? In any case, Berkley is practically all river and little bits of land between it. Because of this, Berkley is making rich off of charging a toll for all barges coming up and down the river to reach the sea or other places in Sundaril.

Cill Mohr Recently plague and famine have struck Cill Mohr hard, reducing large families to families that are barely there both physically and emotionally. Due to having to rely on imports for food and medicine, Cill Mohr is suffering from a lack of economic presence in the north.

Claidaigh Mhor Claidaigh Mhor certainly fights Aidhe in terms of which one is more north. However, Claidaigh's people are truly the worst warriors one would ever face in the field in the way that they are the most skilled warriors of the north. Whispered to be able to move as silent as a ghost and to be as unseen as the wind, the majority of men in Claidaigh Mhor choose this path of life while their women wait for them anxiously at home.

Gleann Arma A people given over to their passions and to the darker sides of life, Gleann Arma's population makes most of it's living farming and shepherding. The wool produced is often put into surprisingly complex weaving techniques causing the clothes to become rural works of art that sell for high prices.

Islana Islana is one of the few duchies that is close to the capital. Largely considered to be because of Queen Rosalie's favoritism to the Istatio line, the original duke was allowed to choose where his land was and picked wisely. Because of their proximity to the capital throughout the years, Islana has grown fat from tariffs and tolls on folk merely passing through.

Jola Controlled by the Havarillis since the rise of the Moreau almost five hundred years ago, it is the only duchy in which a woman has absolute control. It was also the first property ever in which a woman was given control of it without needing a male guardian. The people of Jola adore the Havarilli family and often consider it a great joy to serve them at their estate or in the capital.

Kalith An earldom given to the king's youngest brother, Kalith is known for being inhospitably cold and rocky. There are mountains that compose most of it, meaning folk have found a fascinating way to incorporate their architecture as part of the mountain rather than just patches where there are none.

Keegan Run by the aging Marquess of Keegan, Keegan is largely known for the vast amount of hunting to be found on the property. Long ago, the Marquess started the process of turning the populace to the product of wool by supporting shepherds, wool carders, and seamstresses.

Laoighis Most of Laoighis is composed of the very mountains that stop the central and southern culture of Sundaril from seeping into the north. Large mines have been in use for centuries and used relentlessly to bring forth copper, bronze, gold, and precious stones for the entire north to take joy in. It is a cultural obligation in the barony as well for every family to contribute one child to the priest and priestess of the Old Ways in order to continue them. Failure to do so means the child originally chosen will be forced to give up their own when the time comes.

Lira The County of Lira has long been held by the Gavlins who seem to have a scent for which person to follow in a crisis. Two times they've helped rebel against the current rulers when the odds seemed against them and won. Now the Gavlins are happy to try to build up the idea of their county as a place where art flourishes and parchment is made in abundance (along with copies of books).

Loch a'Morghain Essentially the embodiment of the border between the North and the more southern part of Sundaril, Loch a'Morghain was once primarily used for religious purposes in this mountainous region. Two massive temples were built to honor the Old Way gods of Dana and Lugh and even now priests and priestesses still make pilgrimages to the temples. However, the temples are currently in the care of the Lonsigh family, which rose to prominence after the lady of the house had an affair with the king in 1036 and then bore him an illegitimate son.

Luxeley Owned by the seemingly ancient Baron James Alexander, Luxeley makes most of its wealth from the prize horseflesh it sells throughout Sundaril. The horses produced here are said to live longer than the average horse and to run faster, jump higher, and perform better in stressful situations. Those that do not breed horses often raise the grain for them or train them. Those that choose not to do that tend to lead ordinary farming lives.

Mora If any county needs help, it's Mora. Run by a woman more interested in her affairs and subsequent bastards, Mora's found her uninterested in their economic well being. Unless, that is, to make her fantastic clothes and jewelry. As a result, Mora's industry in the way of jewelry, metallurgy, and clothing has gone up while all else has suffered.

Namaril An old Seraphin holding, Namaril was given over to the Redalans after the Lion War and then raised to a duchy. While the palace of Vitae on the coast still belongs to the Seraphin dynasty, the rest of the land and property belongs to the Redalans which have continued the tradition of fishing, trading, and farming.

Weston Weston is finds itself also in a special position because it's so close to the capital. It's also decided to uphold a position as the most pious of the earldoms in Sundaril due to the Earl's own extreme piety. With a vast amount of monasteries and convents being built, one has to wonder where Weston will find all the people to fill these holy places.
